A contingent of 8 delegates represented the Speaker's Association And Study Circle (SAASC), of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, at SD Model United Nations (MUN) competition from 16th-17th February 2024, held at GGDSD College, Chandigarh.
The delegates represented a variety of portfolios in three committees namely; UNGA, G20 & Lok Sabha. Over the course of two days, many motions were pondered upon & diplomatic policies were discussed.
In the G20 committee, Avi Sinha (representing Italy) of Mechanical 2nd Year was declared as the Best Delegate!!
In the Lok Sabha, Pranav Dhariwal (representing Abhishek Banerjee) of Mechanical 2nd Year was awarded with a Special Mention!!
It was a tremendous show in the UNGA committee, with Atinder Singh (representing Cambodia) of Electrical 1st Year being awarded with High Commendation, Rishav Rai (representing Costa Rica) of CSE 2nd Year being awarded with an Honourable Mention & Jayant Jain (representing Iran) of CSE 1st Year receiving an Honourable Mention too!!
As a whole, SD MUN was a successful tournament for SAASC where many students attained recognitions & awards.
