Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) observed Sadbhavana Diwas as directed by the Chandigarh  Administration on 18th August 2022 at the Administrative Block at 12:15pm. 

Prof.(Dr) Baldev Setia, Director, PEC addressed the students, faculty members and staff about the significance and history of the Sadbhavana Diwas observed on the birth anniversary (20th August) of our former Prime Minister Late. Sh. Rajiv Gandhi. The idea behind the observance of this day is to eschew violence and to promote goodwill, integrity and harmony among the people.

The  deputy director, registrar, the students, faculty and staff members pledged bilingually administered by Prof.(Dr) Baldev Setia, Director, to work for emotional oneness of all Indians regardless of caste, religion or language. They pledged to resolve all differences via dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.

Recent Research Activities

Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with IEEE Region 10, IEEE Chandigarh SubSection, IEEE Delhi Section and Galgotias University, hosted an International Workshop on "Best Practices in Educational Activities Workshop" in hybrid mode ideated by IEEE R-10 Education Activities Committee. IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

The Semiconductor Research Centre, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a week-long Advanced workshop on ‘Semiconductor Device Design, Fabrication and Characterization’ in technical collaboration with IEEE Chandigarh Subsection and ISSE Chandigarh Chapter. Sh. Dharam Pal, IAS and Adviser to the Administrator was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.

Civil Engineering Department, in association with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (Department of Space) Dehradun, organized one day workshop titled “Open Source Geospatial Products in Disaster Management.” The primary mandate of the workshop is to create awareness about the various free available software for digital mapping used in disaster management. Participants from Chandigarh Administration, Fire department, DGRE attended the workshop.
