The Production and Industrial Engineering Department of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh recently concluded its Industry Academia Expert Lecture Week from 20th to 24th, March 2023. The event featured invited talks by experts from reputable organizations such as CATERPILLAR India, PRODUCT ARMOR India, ISGEC HITACHI ZOSEN LTD., and CSIR-CSIO.
On the final day, Mr. Pawan Kumar Sarangal (Lead Engineer, CATERPILLAR India, Bangalore) shared his experiences and presented an overview on ‘Future prospects of the New Product & Development for Global Market’. Dr. Mrinmoy Sinha (Head, Automation Division, PRODUCT ARMOR India, Hyderabad) interacted online with participants and spoke about ‘Industrial Automation and Process Optimization in Packaging Industry’. Dr. Abhay Sachdeva (Senior Scientist, CSIO, Chandigarh) delivered his talk on ‘Designing microfluidic devices for biomedical applications’ and shared its potential application for body implants. Earlier in the week, Mr. Prince Sharma (Manager, ISGEC HITACHI ZOSEN LTD.) an alumnus of PEC Chandigarh had delivered his talk on ‘Use of ANALYSIS for Pressure Vessel Design’.
Prof. R.S. Walia (Head, Production & Industrial Engineering Department) emphasized the significance of this INDUSTRY ACADEMIA EXPERT interaction to foster potential collaborations in internships, job opportunities for students, and project tie-ups for faculty. Dr. Jimmy Karloopia (Coordinator of the event) thanked the participants, organizing team members and experts for their contributions by awarding mementos to the experts. Prof. R.S. Walia also thanked Prof. Baldev Setia, Director (PEC, Chandigarh) and Head (Alumni, Corporate and International Relations) for their continued support & guidance during the conduct of such academic events.
