A One-Day Workshop titled “Express. Engage. Excel: A Workshop on Communication Skills” was held as a collaborative initiative of the Career Development and Guidance Centre (CDGC) and the Centre of Management and Humanities (CMH) on 25th July 2026. The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Director, PEC, Dr. Rajesh Bhatia, in the presence of Prof. J. D. Sharma, Head CDGC; Prof. Anju Singla, Head CMH; Mr. Parveen Singh, Co- founder of P&F Consulting and Guest Speaker; the resource persons; and the participants.
The Head, CDGC, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the workshop’s significance in strengthening students’ pre-placement preparation. The Hon'ble Director, PEC, then addressed the gathering, underscoring the need for such initiatives to enhance students’ employability and professional growth. The Head, CMH, expressed her gratitude to the Hon'ble Director for envisioning this initiative and reiterating the vital role of communication skills in building students’ confidence and preparing them for successful careers.
Mr. Parveen Singh delivered the keynote address on “The Power to Persuade: Communication for Career Success,” highlighting the importance of building a strong professional brand, applying effective communication in interviews, group discussions and leadership roles. He also emphasized the significance of active listening and empathy in building trust, influencing decisions and achieving career success.
Three technical sessions “Build Your Vocabulary,” “Building Comprehension Skills,” and “Master the Interview: Why Mechanical Answers Fail and Narrative Wisdom Wins” were conducted by Dr. Sadiya Jalal, Dr. Harpreet Kaur and Ms. Manika Ahuja respectively, the faculty members of Centre of Management and Humanities. The sessions focused on strengthening participants' communication skills by enhancing their vocabulary, improving comprehension and critical thinking, and enabling them to deliver confident, authentic, and impactful responses in interviews and professional interactions.
The workshop aimed to strengthen communication skills, improve interview readiness and build confidence for participants. It concluded with enthusiastic participation and provided students with practical strategies for career success.
