Short Term Training of DTE Punjab Diploma Students at Workshop & Skill Development Centre at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh Under the PM-RAMP Scheme from 02 Nov 26 to 05 Nov 26
In a significant initiative to enhance the technical expertise and practical skills of diploma students, a group of approx 100 diploma students from various parts of Punjab visited the Workshop and Skill Development Centre at Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, under the PM-RAMP Scheme. The workshop provided students with an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to advanced technologies and modern industrial practices through practical sessions conducted in specialised laboratories, including Product Design, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Robotics, Automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), and other emerging technological domains. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by familiarising students with state-of-the-art equipment, advanced manufacturing techniques, and industry-relevant technologies. Through demonstrations and hands-on learning activities, the students gained valuable insights into the functioning of modern engineering systems and their applications in real-world industrial environments. The visit was organised with the objective of promoting experiential learning, strengthening technical competencies, and enhancing the practical understanding of diploma students. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Prof. R. S. Walia and Dr. Mohit Tyagi, Professors-in-Charge, whose guidance and efforts contributed to providing the participating students with an enriching learning experience. The initiative under the PM- RAMP Scheme highlights the importance of skill development and industry-oriented technical education in empowering students with practical knowledge, improving employability, and preparing them to meet the evolving demands of the manufacturing and technology sectors. The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the importance of practical training, technological innovation, and continuous skill enhancement in technical education. Through this initiative, PEC Chandigarh continues to contribute to the advancement of technical education and skill development by providing students with valuable exposure to modern engineering technologies and practical learning environments.
