Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) successfully hosted its Global Alumni Meet 2026, bringing together a vibrant constellation of distinguished alumni, administrators, industry leaders, faculty members, and students in a grand celebration of legacy, excellence, and lifelong bonds. The event was presided over by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director, PEC, and graced by Er. Jatin Talwar, Chief Guest—renowned Legal Tech Entrepreneur and Founder of TT Consultants Group and XLScout (Mechanical Engineering, Batch of 2001).
The Meet was organized by the Punjab Engineering College Old Students’ Association (PECOSA) under the leadership of Er. Manish Gupta, President, PECOSA; Er. H.S. Oberoi, General Secretary, PECOSA; and Er. Jorawar Singh, Treasurer, PECOSA.
The event received generous support from sponsors including Talwar Advocates, TT Consultants, OMAXE, Finvasia, XL Scout, Usha Yarns, TTC Group, MT Autocraft, Goodspace, AXIS (Tools for Micro Machining), IDS (Enabling Success), and Prabha Electronics—whose contributions were instrumental in making the Meet a resounding success.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lamp-lighting by the dignitaries. The occasion was graced by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia and Er. Jatin Talwar, alongside Er. Manish Gupta (President, PECOSA), Er. H.S. Oberoi (General Secretary, PECOSA), Prof. Rajesh Kanda (Head of Alumni Relations, PEC), Er. Sanjiv Bhavnani (Head, NCR PECOSA), Er. Sarvjeet Singh Virk (Special Contributor), Dr. Jimmy Karloopia, and other esteemed guests.
In his welcome address, Er. Manish Gupta expressed heartfelt gratitude to alumni and dignitaries, underscoring that the Meet celebrates shared bonds across generations. He highlighted PECOSA’s expanding global chapters, the strengthened pecosa.in platform connecting over 15,000 members worldwide, and its support of more than 100 scholarships annually. He also announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the TTC Group to enhance industry–academia collaboration in AI and innovation-driven initiatives.
Er. H.S. Oberoi reaffirmed that the bond with PEC remains timeless. Prof. Rajesh Kanda, Head of Alumni Relations, PEC, outlined key milestones, including MoUs with Power Grid Corporation of India, Central UP Gas Limited, and Indian Oil Corporation Limited. He shared that 215 scholarships were awarded in the past year, supported by an alumni corpus exceeding ₹6 crore—funding 48 scholarships annually through interest income—along with structured endowment policies to ensure sustainable growth.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia lauded alumni contributions toward infrastructure development, academic excellence, and industry partnerships. He emphasized collective responsibility in strengthening PEC’s national standing and aligning academic pursuits with emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence and semiconductor technologies.
Delivering the keynote address, Er. Jatin Talwar reflected on his journey from PEC classrooms to building a global AI-driven enterprise. He credited PEC for instilling leadership and innovation, highlighted the growth of TT Consultants Group and XL Scout, and stressed the importance of responsible AI and purposeful entrepreneurship. He encouraged students to innovate boldly while staying connected to their alma mater.
A major highlight of the Meet was the signing of the MoU between PEC and the TTC Group to strengthen research collaboration, internships, and industry exposure for students in AI and LegalTech. Signed on the morning of 14th February, 2026, the MoU includes XL Scout’s intent to hire 50 PEC students over the next 3–4 years. The signing ceremony was graced by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia; Prof. Rajesh Kanda; Prof. J.D. Sharma; Dr. Jimmy Karloopia; Ms. Saruchi Sharma; and Er. Jatin Talwar, along with PECOSA office bearers. Along with this, The Batch of 1991, through the Office of Alumni, Corporate and International Relations, generously donated four E-Vehicles and one wheelchair, at a total cost of ₹ 11 Lakh plus.
Beyond the formal proceedings, the Meet featured networking sessions, cultural performances, interactive activities, and nostalgic reunions. Distinguished alumni were felicitated, and milestone batches from 1956 to 2021 were honored. The celebrations concluded with a vibrant cultural evening—featuring musical performances, kite flying, tambola, and a gala dinner—allowing alumni to relive cherished memories and strengthen lifelong bonds.
The Global Alumni Meet 2026 reaffirmed PEC’s robust alumni network and its enduring commitment to excellence, innovation, and nation-building—reigniting the timeless spirit of “Once a PECOSIAN, Always a PECOSIAN.”
