The National Service Scheme (NSS) Club of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, organized a Blood Donation Camp on the college campus. This noble initiative aimed to spread awareness about the vital importance of blood donation and to encourage the spirit of community service among students and staff. A total of 170 units of blood with 250 Registrations were collected during the drive, reflecting the enthusiasm and compassion of PEC’s students, faculty, and volunteers toward a life-saving cause.
The event was graced by Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director, PEC, who was accompanied by Dr. D.R. Prajapati (Dean of Students Affairs), Dr. Sanjay Batish, Dr. Sandeep Kaur (Coordinator, NSS), Dr. Mohit Kumar (Co-Coordinator, NSS), and Dr. Rattan Lal (Co-Coordinator, NSS). Prof. Bhatia appreciated the dedicated efforts of the NSS team for their continuous engagement in social welfare activities and encouraged them to initiate more such impactful programs that contribute positively to society.
During the camp, the dignitaries interacted with donors and felicitated star donors who have consistently participated in previous blood donation drives organized by PEC. The initiative received an overwhelming response and was lauded by all participants for promoting the values of empathy, service, and social responsibility.
This successful collaboration between NSS-PEC and PGIMER stands as a testament to PEC’s enduring commitment to community engagement and nation-building through meaningful social outreach.
