The batch of 2028 was made aware of their rights as an Anti-Ragging activity was organized by the English Editorial Board. The session utilized comprehensive essay writing to encapsulate the vast nature of ragging and bullying. The students were introduced to the fact that the scope of ragging expands beyond physical coercion – mental, verbal, academic, and financial. In the Constitution of India, under Section 26 of the University Grants Commission Act, any form of ragging is a punishable offense.
Students were given three options as starting prompts to write the essay, which were later evaluated, and all concerns were clarified at the end of the session. The entire batch was engaged in this enthralling and interactive writing session, which also highlighted the benefits of writing as a medium of expression and communication.
