Eleven students from Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh have been selected to participate in the prestigious Latin American Space Challenge (LASC) to be held in Brazil. The competition, renowned as Latin America's largest experimental rocket and satellite engineering event, will take place at the Cape Canavial area near downtown Tatuí, São Paulo.
The students representing Punjab Engineering College are Akriti, Aditya Ingle, Praveen Kumar, Suryaveer Singh, Dipak Jana, Karthik Kumar, Kesia Ajith, Astha Patel, Vidhi Arya, Puranjot, and Puranjay Kaushik. They will compete against teams from across Latin America to showcase their expertise in rocket and satellite development.
LASC 2023 will consist of two challenges: the Rocket Challenge and the Satellite Challenge. Team Aarambh, as the Chandigarh students' team is called, aims to achieve a remarkable 500 AGL apogee with their solid rocket propulsion system. The team has been working tirelessly to develop cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to maximize the capabilities of their satellite on sounding rockets.
