A Team of six students from Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh is travelling to compete in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC), to be held on 20th April 2023 in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. The team comprises six students - Vanshul Goyal, Sparsh Aggarwal, Gunjan Rawat, Gautam Kumar, Himanshu Goyal and Pankaj Kumar, and team advisor Prof. N.M. Suri, will be travelling on 17th April 2023 for the completion.
The team has received financial aid of Rs10 Lakhs from the honourable UT Administrator Shri Banwarilal Purohit and Rs10 Lakhs from Power Grid Corporation of India, Rs. 1.5 Lakhs has been contributed by PEC alumni Mr Subhash C. Goel and Mr Sandeep Bhargawa. The financial support has helped the team to have access to manufacturing equipment and it also covers the travel expense.
The team will be among 61 teams across the globe selected by NASA to participate in its Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC)2023.
