The Entrepreneurship and Incubation Cell of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, today inaugurated the second edition of E-SUMMIT 2023, An Innovative Dreamscape. E-Summit is an annual event organized to provide a platform for young entrepreneurial minds to interact and present their ideas to experts in the fields. Prof. Baldev Setia, Director of PEC, was the chief guest of the inaugural session. Mr. Harit Mohan, Founder & CEO- of Signicent Information Solutions was the first keynote speaker of the event. The event started with a floral welcome of the chief guest and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The day progressed with a formal welcome by Prof. Sandeep Salodkar, Co-Coordinator E-Summit. He mentioned that this is the era of startups and the Entrepreneurship and Incubation cell at PEC is dedicated to providing such informative and interactive sessions to young minds.
Prof. Baldev Setia, Director of PEC, complimented the team of E-Summit for bringing the best minds to interact with and guide young entrepreneurs. He motivated the present students to be observant and keep asking questions as that leads to innovation. Going into history, Prof. Setia mentioned that there are a number of ordinary people with extraordinary talent who believed in themselves and created something exceptional that changed the world. He concluded his speech with a message for students to dream big, have a purpose of making society a better place and most importantly believe in themselves.
Mr. Harit Mohan, Founder & CEO- of Signicent Information Solutions, gave a keynote speech on “Pain of Startup or Pain of Regret?”. In his interactive session, he apprised the students about the journey of a startup, the do’s and don’ts, and the challenges one faces during the journey. Picking examples from his journey he answered the queries of the young minds in the audience. He motivated the students to find a purpose to contribute to society and make it a better place with their innovations, he also suggested starting as early as possible as that helps one gain real-life experience and feedback to improve. He concluded his speech with important tips for young minds interested in having their startups.
The inaugural session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Alka Jindal, Co-Coordinator E-Summit. She concluded the session by motivating the students to participate in the activities that were planned for them and make the best of these two days.
There were a number of fun activities planned simultaneously for the day for the students, such as the IPL Auction, Startup Expo, Intern Fair, Funding Conclave, Treasure hunt, Panel discussions, and open mic.
The theme for the Women Conclave (Panel Discussion) was, Overcoming Obstacles: Stories of Resilience and Perseverance from Successful Women Entrepreneurs. The panel members were Drishti Kharbanda, CEO of Women Made Craft, Ms. Sartaj Lamba, Founder and CEO of Besure Buddy Pvt (BUDDY CABS & CARE), Kanika Rajdev, CEO of Mindcog and Shaira Kansal, CEO Kaam India. The women entrepreneurs shared their aims, journey and challenges with the audience and motivated the students to follow their passions. The panel discussion was followed by the second keynote lecture by Aseem Ghavri.
