The Art and Photography Club, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, today inaugurated its 2-day flagship event, SPECTRUM, the Stroke of a creative mind. Prof. Deoraj Prajapati, Dean of Student Affairs, was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony.
The event began with welcome speeches by the event Conveners, Tushar Garg and Richa Sabharwal, followed by lamp lighting and an event introduction video. The ceremony moved ahead with a brief speech by the Operating In-charge of APC, Prof. Sumati Mahajan.
The event progressed with the felicitation of Prof. Deoraj Prajapati, Dean of Student Affairs who was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. He motivated the students for the event ahead and highlighted the significance of the artistic skills that one develops by indulging in drawing and painting activities. The inauguration ceremony concluded with the announcement of rules for the event.
The Round 1 of the event received about 70 entries from students of esteemed institutes including AIIMS Rishikesh, CCET, CCA, and various others. With this, round 2 for the event commenced which had a theme of “Fantasia”. The total prize pool for the event is 50000 rupees. There are also two consolation prizes of 2000 rupees. Certificates of participation would also be provided to the participants at the closing ceremony on 30th April 2023.
A movie was held at 4 pm for the participants which was followed by the announcement of the shortlist of participants for the next round.
