PEC Student Won Gold Medal in the 60th National Roller Skating Championship 2022

PEC Student Won Gold Medal

We are glad to inform you that in the 60th National Roller Skating championship 2022 held at Bangalore, Ms Nanki, first year student of Computer Science, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University)Chandigarh, participated from Team Chandigarh as captain of Sr women inline Hockey and won the Gold medal.

Four other students from PEC, Armaandeep from Electrical Engineering 3rd year won a gold medal, Karan from Computer Science Engineering 4th year won a silver medal, Paras Dhiman from Civil Engineering 2nd year won the silver and Yashika Sharma from Computer Science Engineering 1st year won a silver medal.

In the championship, more than 5000 athletes from all states of INDIA participated in various Roller events like skateboarding, speedskating, Artistic, Roller hockey, inline hockey, Roller derby and Downhill. 

Recent Research Activities

Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with IEEE Region 10, IEEE Chandigarh SubSection, IEEE Delhi Section and Galgotias University, hosted an International Workshop on "Best Practices in Educational Activities Workshop" in hybrid mode ideated by IEEE R-10 Education Activities Committee. IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.

The Semiconductor Research Centre, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a week-long Advanced workshop on ‘Semiconductor Device Design, Fabrication and Characterization’ in technical collaboration with IEEE Chandigarh Subsection and ISSE Chandigarh Chapter. Sh. Dharam Pal, IAS and Adviser to the Administrator was the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.

Civil Engineering Department, in association with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (Department of Space) Dehradun, organized one day workshop titled “Open Source Geospatial Products in Disaster Management.” The primary mandate of the workshop is to create awareness about the various free available software for digital mapping used in disaster management. Participants from Chandigarh Administration, Fire department, DGRE attended the workshop.
