PEC University of Technology and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, a scientific society of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration in the areas of Geo Informatics, Disaster Management, Cyber Security, Super Computing and Software Engineering. The MoU to this effect was signed by Hemant Darbari, Executive Director, CDAC and Dr. Manoj K Arora, Director, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, on 15th October, 2015 at Pune.
The aim of this academic and research cooperation is to foster collaboration, provide opportunity for sharing experience, to facilitate advancement of knowledge on the basis of reciprocity, best efforts, mutual benefits and frequent interactions in the field of science and technology of mutual interest.
Under the MoU, both the institutions have decided to support each other's endeavors in delivery of academic programmes including Ph.D. and PG programmes for CDAC employees as per PEC rules and guidelines, a full semester internship programme at CDAC for PEC UG students, joint ME and Ph.D. thesis supervision, joint Master's programme in fields of mutual interest and joint project bidding and execution in areas of common interest, among others.
Under this MoU, CDAC and PEC University of Technology shall also consult each other before publishing any research results and foreground information generated using the joint research to ensure that no proprietary information is released and that foreground intellectual property rights are not jeopardized.
This MoU shall remain in force for a period of five years from the date of its initial signing.
