The National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organized a plantation drive on the PEC campus today as part of the "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam" campaign launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on June 5, 2024. The initiative encourages individuals to plant a tree in honor of their mothers and contribute to the preservation of Mother Earth.
The event was graced by Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Director of PEC (Ad Interim), along with Prof. Sushant Samir (Chairman Estate), Prof. Sandeep Kaur (NSS Coordinator), Dr. Mayank Gupta, and Dr. Rattan Lal. NSS volunteers, along with other students of the institute, participated enthusiastically in the drive. A total of 50 saplings of various plant species were planted near the PEC Market area on campus.
With this initiative, PEC continues to contribute to the noble cause of environmental conservation, reaffirming its commitment to a greener future.
