The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh successfully organised a Mega Health Camp on 30th September 2025 at the PEC dispensary, aimed at promoting health awareness and providing free medical facilities to the community. The camp recorded an enthusiastic footfall of nearly 250 people and offered a wide range of diagnostic and counselling services, including Mammography, Bone Density Test, Stem Cell Donor Registration, Eye Checkup, Counselling, General Checkup, and Dental Checkup.
It was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Kaur (Co-ordinator, NSS PEC), Dr. Mayank Gupta (Programme Officer), Dr. Mohit Kumar (Programme Officer), and Dr. Ratan Lal (Programme Officer). The event was also graced by the presence of the Dr. D.R. Prajapati Dean Student Affairs (DSA), whose encouragement inspired both volunteers and participants.
The medical services were provided by a dedicated team of experts. Eye checkups were conducted by Dr. Amit Sharma and Dr. Priyanka, while stem cell donor registrations were facilitated by Dr. Jasleen Garg. The bone density tests were managed by Tanisha, and counselling sessions were led by Dr. Abhishek Jindal. Dental checkups were carried out by Dr. Monica Grover and Dr. Maneel Grover, whereas general checkups were conducted by Dr. Surender K. Rohan. The mammography unit was supported by Harjit Singh, Neha, Jagjit Singh, and Manisha, assisted by Dr. Stuti, Dr. Rishika, and Dr. Chetna.
The camp was organised in collaboration with Tooth Spot, Grover Eye Hospital, Your Safe Space by Abhishek, Amrita Cancer Foundation, and PEC Dispensary doctors, and was supported by IEEE Chandigarh Subsection.
The camp emphasized preventive healthcare, early detection, and awareness, benefiting a large number of people. With the joint efforts of doctors, partner organisations, and NSS volunteers, the event stood as a true reflection of the NSS motto – “Not Me, But You.”
