Kabir Arora (B.Tech. CSE- 2nd Year student) selected in Silicon Valley Immersion Program

Kabir Arora, a second-year Computer Science and Engineering student from Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, has made headlines by securing a runner-up position in the esteemed Silicon Valley Immersion Program (SVIP). This program, orchestrated by Apna in partnership with the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), is a renowned national competition designed to bridge the gap between Indian students and global tech leaders.

The SVIP competition, celebrated for its rigorous structure, comprised three demanding rounds. The initial two rounds were conducted online. The first round featured a general aptitude MCQ test, while the second round was divided into four specialized tracks—two centered on technology and two on management. Kabir Arora opted for the software track, where he and his team were tasked with addressing a complex problem statement through innovative solutions.

Kabir's exceptional performance in these rounds earned him a spot in the finals held at the AICTE headquarters in Delhi. The final challenge involved devising a startup concept around a new problem statement, a task that required not only technical acumen but also strategic foresight. Kabir and his team navigated this high-pressure environment with impressive skill, resulting in their recognition as runners-up.

As a runner-up, Kabir's team was awarded a cash prize of ₹1.5 lakhs and, more significantly, secured a fully-funded trip to Silicon Valley. This exclusive trip will allow Kabir to engage directly with industry leaders from top technology firms such as Google, Apple, and Meta. The experience promises to deepen his understanding of the innovation-driven culture prevalent in Silicon Valley. Reflecting on his achievement, Kabir expressed his gratitude: "This experience has been a pivotal milestone in my academic and professional journey. It has sharpened my technical and strategic skills and provided me with invaluable insights into the global tech landscape. I am incredibly proud to represent my college and am eager to apply the knowledge and experiences I have gained to contribute to India's burgeoning tech ecosystem."

Kabir also acknowledged the support he received from his peers and mentors, which he credited as instrumental to his success.
