The Entrepreneurship and Incubation Cell (EIC) of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organized an interactive session on 'Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship' on Friday i.e, 15th November, 2019. This session was conducted by Mr. Sujit Banerjee, Director, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The session began with a question to the students "What motivated you all to pursue Engineering? He emphasized the role of technology in creating innovations. Further, he talked about the concept and difference between Real and Artificial Intelligence.
He introduced a term DIKW that is Data, Information, Knowledge and Wisdom in a Pyramid form. The whole idea was to perceive and process all the information which we encounter daily in the same order of the DIKW pyramid. He explained the difference between Leaders and Managers, as to how leaders innovate and mangers execute. The speaker motivated the students to think out of the box, innovate and explore new possibilities giving real life examples of entrepreneurs. The students were instilled with a drive to experiment and innovate. The entire hall was filled with a vibe of positive energy and enthusiasm.
