EIC-PEC Team (Dr. Sudesh, Dr. Nidhi and Dr. Ajay along Prof. Simranjit Singh) with PEC students attended Bharat SaaS Yatra event organised at IM Punjab, Mohali on 12th April 2024.
This visit was planned under the leadership of Prof. Baldev Setia, Director PEC. Faculty have interacted with esteemed entrepreneurs and talked about the possible collaborations with PEC. Bharat SaaS Yatra team has honoured EIC team with AI generated photo frame. Students attended the exhibitions and learnt many things new.
Bharat SaaS Yatra is a 120 day journey through India, travelling 20 cities, meeting thousands of founders, to celebrate and capture the rise of from nowhere to #2 in the world & heading to a India SaaS $1 trillion opportunity by 2030. Twenty students from Punjab Engineering Collage visited IMPunjab, a hub fostering entrepreneurship and innovation on 12th April 2024. The visit provided valuable insights into the world of Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses. After introductions, the students had an engaging session with founder of startup named Queuick discussing upon innovative thinking, the crucial stages of building a startup, and the importance of creating valuable solutions. Following the talk, a representative guided the students through an exhibition showcasing established SaaS companies. The exhibition highlighted how SaaS companies can be valued significantly higher than traditional product-based companies and at least ten times their revenue. An exhibit showcased global news headlines changing across decades and speculated on how they might evolve in the future, reflecting India’s changing image and increasing global influence. The main highlight of the event was the motivating and innovative stories of successful Indian entrepreneurs who have built billion-dollar SaaS companies. The stories and journeys of those entrepreneurs, particularly those from Punjab, made the trip a memorable learning experience. Lastly, an Internship Fair was held, offering students the opportunity to work with these impressive SaaS-based startups and contribute to their legacy.
