Dr. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering has been received the "Best Paper Award" in the 11th Power India International Conference (PIICON 2024), held from December 10th to 12th, 2024, at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur. This recognition was conferred for his outstanding research paper titled "Variable Step-size LMS Filter for Power Quality Enhancement using Grid Supportive Photovoltaic System."
The IEEE 11th Power India International Conference (PIICON 2024) is a conference of IEEE Delhi section organized under the aegis of IEEE Delhi Section, and co-sponsored by IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS), and various IEEE chapters, is one of the premier international conferences focusing on cutting-edge developments in the fields of power systems, power electronics, and renewable energy. This year's conference included keynote sessions, technical paper presentations, tutorials, and panel discussions, all aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers, academicians, and industry professionals from around the world. The conference provided an exceptional platform for researchers, academics, and industry professionals to exchange innovative ideas and practices for advancing energy solutions to achieve the conference theme "Power and Energy Enabling Technologies for Future Grid".
Dr. Kumar’s research, which explores novel techniques for enhancing power quality through advanced filtering methods in photovoltaic systems, captivated the attention of experts in the field. The paper introduces a Variable Step-size LMS (Least Mean Squares) Filter, designed to improve the efficiency and stability of grid-connected photovoltaic systems. By enhancing power quality, the work offers significant implications for integrating renewable energy sources into the power grid, making them more reliable and efficient in real-world applications. The Best Paper Award at PIICON 2024 not only acknowledges Dr. Kumar’s technical expertise but also highlights the growing role of research in advancing clean and sustainable energy technologies. The award reflects his dedication to bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical implementation in the power and energy sectors.
