PEC University of Technology continues the mind-engaging sessions with their first ever PEC Industry Conclave . The second day of the three days event kicked off with the first technical session comprising speakers like Mr. Gurvin Singh, Managing partner of Coetec India, who delivered an illuminating speech on taking forward the industry institute partnership. He further highlighted the required reforms for higher education including a rigorous internship program and partnerships of educational institutes with small and medium sized industries to maximize efficiency.
The second speaker hailing from PEC itself was the Centre of Excellence Coordinator, Dr. Praveen Kalra. He listed some of the fascinating projects in association with different industries and institutes like PGI. PEC's partnership with PGI is producing novel patents and their involvement with a backpack manufacturer to create projects regarding spinal health has proved to be a successful venture.
Another renowned speaker , Prof. Rupinder Tewari, Co-ordinator, DST-Centre for Policy Research, Punjab University, Chandigarh delivered a talk on RandD Models under PPP mode in India who enlightened the audience on the subject of Industry- Academia ecosystem.
The agro-centric talk given by Mr. Rajinder Kaura, our fourth speaker, CMD, Bergen group of companies, Gurugram educated the audience on setting up of PV TEC Labs and Technoparks on CSP and PV. Talking about the information asymmetry between financial needs and the hubs of talent, he proposed a creative model to redistribute resources judicially to revolutionize the industry.
The day proceeded with an interactive session on Partnership with Industry in Start-ups and Incubation which hosted visionaries like Mr. Sanjeev Bhavani-founder of Mentorpreneur and Infotechniques Group, Ms. Shikha Arora- Founder and CTO at MAZ(India and USA), Mr. Chandra Mohan-CMD of 21st Century Battery, Mohali. Mr. Sanjiv Bhavani emphasized on start-ups and incubation and primary government schemes taken up to support the young and growing minds of India. In support of preceding discussion conducted by Mr. Bhavnani, Mr Chandra Mohan furthermore scrutinized upon partnership with industry in start-ups and incubation. Ms Shikha Arora talked along the lines of 'Catch them young' pertaining to entrepreneurship whilst fostering the spirit of innovation among youth. Mr. Sudhendhu Bali described how research could be transformed into successful business ventures.
Each speaker was welcomed and felicitated with a memento by Dean Alumni, Prof. K.K Gogna. The day ended with a detailed discussion on Interfacing PEC with industry in which the prospective challenges and opportunities were discussed. The sessions for the day were well received and the audience were keen listeners. The sessions were concluded on a successful note with everyone gaining insight from the lectures.
