Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) in Chandigarh came alive with vibrant celebrations during the Teej festival. The event, held on August 19, 2023, at the Director's Residence, showcased a delightful blend of cultural performances, traditional rituals, and festive spirit, truly capturing the essence of this lively festival.
Teej, an important festival in North India, marks the monsoon season's arrival and pays homage to the goddess Parvati. The celebrations at PEC embraced the region's cultural heritage, offering a platform for faculty and their spouses to come together in unity and celebration. The event venue was adorned with swings, a hallmark of Teej, beautifully decorated with flowers and fabrics that captured the playful essence of the season. Traditional designs and elements like paper crafts and umbrellas created an enchanting atmosphere. Stations for applying mehendi (henna) and chudi (bangles) allowed attendees to take part in time-honored rituals. Attendees adorned themselves in traditional attire, enhancing the festive atmosphere with colorful sarees, lehengas, and jewelry.
The cultural performances seamlessly blended modern and traditional elements. The celebration also included customary rituals and ceremonies associated with Teej, adding an authentic and respectful touch to the event. These rituals served as a reminder of the festival's cultural significance
