PEC University of Technology always encourage students to visit sites to get feel of field. On the same lines, an industrial trip to Delhi was organized by PEC University of Technology's ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) chapter with the aim of enhancing students' understanding and knowledge. Team consists of Prof. H.A.S. Sandhu and Dr Tripta Goyal and around 45 civil engineering students visited various iconic structures. Team visited Signature Bridge, height of which will be double the height of Kutubminar, after completion. This bridge is 675 m-long and 154 m-high and will have two carriageways of four lanes each. The bridge modelled on the London Bridge is being built as a tourist spot in collaboration with three firms, two of which are from Italy and Brazil. Moreover, team also visited Wazirabad-Mukarba Chowk flyover and Barapula flyover which were under construction to make Delhi's outer ring road signal free. The students were exposed to different construction techniques and concepts like precast concrete and pre-stressed concrete box girders. Er. Shishir Bansal (Chief Engineer, CPWD Delhi), a PEC alumnus, explained the students about sustainability, economic and political considerations and project management. The visit was a wonderful opportunity for these future engineers to learn about the latest advancement in construction technologies and management.
