To boost up the spirit of innovation, creativity and technical development, eminent experts from the industry gathered together for the PEC Industrial Conclave- 2016 which is being organized by PEC from 23rd September to 25th September 2016.
This amalgamation of industrial leaders and inventive academics aims to bridge the gap between the world of books containing theoretical knowledge and the vast sphere of human endeavors to facilitate the creation of better techniques and their practical implementation.
The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Satish Agnihotri, CMD, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Arvind Bali, Director and CEO, Videocon Telecom and Handset. The honourable Director of the Institute, Prof. Manoj K Arora along with the various delegates, heads of the departments, faculty members and students attended the event.
Dr. Manoj K. Arora initiated the inaugural session by lighting of the lamp which was followed by Mr. Satish Agnihotri who addressed and applauded the initiative of the conclave, it being in line with the vision-"Make in India". He seeded the idea of creating a business model to promote competition among young engineers.
The inaugural session was followed by Technical Session-I on Research and Innovation. This session began with Mr. Arvind Bali who highlighted about the latest buzz in the IT world: IOT/OTT Revolution. He talked at length about the internetworking of physical devices with electronic sensors for smart exchange of data. This was followed by a talk delivered by Dr. Sanjay Mandal, Professor, IISER Mohali on identifying and understanding the customers and their needs. The importance of Innovation was stressed upon by Mr. Atul Gupta, Co-founder and CEO Red Alkemi, ERP. He emphasized on the need for development of new technologies for survival and prosperity in every business field. After a short tea-break, the session resumed with Mr. Parmit Garg, Project Director, DMRC addressing the audience about his exciting journey to metros in India and also discussing the recent research and innovation in this field. Following this, Dr. Vasundhara Singh, Head Applied Sciences, PEC, delivered a talk on Sustainable Chemical Technologies.
The dignitaries were presented with mementos to thank them for enlightening the audience with their vast experience and knowledge. The event proved to be a resounding success, providing a perfect platform for interaction between brains and executing hands of operation and the exchange of great and worthwhile ideas.
It concluded with Mr. Manish Jindal, Registrar, PEC, extending a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and participants for making the first day of the conclave a major success.
