Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) celebrated Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorating 75 years of independence today. The students organised 8 events in online and offline mode, as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav which witnessed immense participation from over 150 students across all years and branches.The events included Slam Poetry competition, Digital Poster competition, Essay Writing, Monologue Writing and a Yoga competition, all centered around the theme of 75 years of India’s Independence, the freedom struggle involved, the role of freedom fighters and their thoughts and opinions about these significant events in India’s History.
In addition to these events, the theme and marketing brochure for PECFest 2021-22 was released. The event began with the introduction to the institute's Annual techno-cultural fest 'PECFest 2021-22' followed by the official release of the theme video for PECFest and concluded with the release of its Marketing Brochure. PECFEST is one of the biggest fests of Northern India. In the past years, PECFest has registered an overwhelming footfall of 40,000-50,000 audiences.
Last year, even the constraint of conducting an online fest didn’t stop PECFest from outperforming and putting up an indelible show, Technical activities ranging from Coding Hackathons, Robo Wars, Machinist, Concrete Canoe and Cultural Activities like BhangraTheque, Glitterati, Groovz, Rap Battle among many others have seen extensive participation from students across all years.
