Open House 2015 was held in PEC University of Technology on 17th April, 2015. Open House is the PEC's annual exhibition of projects and innovative designs by students. This year more than 250 students from 20 schools of tricity including both government and private schools attended the event. The event was aimed at raising awareness, excitement and passion among young school students and invoking in them a sense of curiosity about technology and engineering. The inauguration of the event was done by the Chief Engineer, Chandigarh Administration, Er. Mukesh Anand, who addressed the students and the faculty members present at the event. Mr. Anand exhorted the budding engineers to give the solution to the various engineering projects of the Chandigarh administration. Deputy Director, PEC University of Technology, Dr. Sanjeev Sofat inspired the students through his captivating words to work hard and to achieve their aspirations. Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Parveen Kalra, provided an insight into the curriculum and courses offered at PEC. The Training and Placement officer Dr. Umesh Sharma, outlined the academic excellence of PEC University of Technology by presenting the placement records of the various departments. The event included the performances by the Music and Dramatics club of PEC. The students were given a glimpse of cultural and technical fest of college through videos made by PEC's PDC club. The students were taken to the guided tour of the college in which they were introduced to various departments and laboratories of the college where they could have a closer look at the projects prepared by PEC students. The students thoroughly enjoyed this knowledgeable experience which helped them gain a clearer perspective of their goal. The evaluation of the projects being showcased was done on 16th April 2015 by eminent personalities and alumni of PEC. The first prize was bagged by the project CNC Engraving machine, the second prize was bagged by the project- Detecting road conditions using smart phone sensors and the third prize went to the project- Solar Cell using dip coating.
