JASPAL BHATTI, THE 'ULTA PULTA' MAN LIVES ON
PECOSA REMEMBERS IT STAR ALUMNUS
' Sir, choohe VIP files ko kutr gaye,' says the pretty receptionist. The officer exclaims in exasperation, " Arre, humare desh ke choohe bhi kitne unpadh hai. Unhe VIP aur aam aadmi ki filon mein farak hi nahi pata". The audience laughs it heart out.
It's a scene out of Jaspal Bhatti's iconic show 'Flop Show'. The occasion was a tribute to the legend by the young students of PEC , from where Mr. Bhatti graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1978.
The yearly function, dedicated to the genius of Mr. Bhatti, is the brainchild of the old boys wing of the college, PECOSA. The chief guest who graced the occasion with her presence was Mrs. Kirron Kher, MP, Chandigarh. Mrs. Savita Bhatti, wife of late Jaspal Bhatti, was the Guest of Honor.
In her address to the students, Mrs Kirron Kher applauded the vision of Mr Jaspal Bhatti. She also congratulated the members of PECOSA team - Er. KK Vohra, Mr RP Sharma, Mr Sanjiv Moudgil, Mr Ashok Bansal and all executive members for the successful and vibrant evening. She also awarded certificates and scholarships to the deserving students of the college, an initiative funded by PECOSA.
The college students presented a scintillating display of entertainment with humorous skits, foot tapping dances and retro Bollywood songs. A film on the life of Mr Bhatti was also screened. The function was attended by Jaspal Bhatti's family, his friends, engineering college classmates, other alumni of the college and the current batch of students.
