As a part of the Industry Academia Lecture Week, the Electrical Engineering Department of PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh organised various lectures attended by the students as well as faculty.
On 22nd March, 2017, Ms Anjana Mishra from Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. delivered the lecture on Cyber Security in smart grid scenario. She talked about SCADA, effective commercial policies and ATandC losses.
On 23rd March, 2017, Mr. Kamal Sehgal, Sterlite and also an alumnus 1993 batch (Production Engineering, PEC), informed the students about latest technologies, challenges and opportunities in the power industry. He shared his field experience and introduced the topics like six sigma and lean six sigma.
Mr. Vivek Dhawan from Rockwell Automation, an alumnus 1993 batch (Electrical Engineering, PEC) delivered the talk on 24th March, 2017. The key topics of his talk were protection of industrial motors, let through energy, intelligent motor control and various international electrical standards. He motivated students to choose a field of interest and work towards it.
All the expert lectures were extremely enlightening and enriching and gave the students an insight into the working of the Industry. The emergence of smart systems in all electrical technology was also highlighted during these expert talks.
