Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, inaugurated PECFEST 2025—its flagship cultural and technical festival—with a grand, high-energy ceremony that set the tone for three days of creativity, innovation, and spirited celebration. The opening witnessed an impressive gathering of students, faculty, dignitaries, alumni, and participants from across the country, reflecting the vibrant ethos and rich traditions that define PEC’s legacy.
The ceremony was graced by Director Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia, Shri Vishal Khandelwal (Commandant, 5 Signal Battalion), Shri Sanjay Belwal (Deputy Commandant), Shri Abhimanyu Singh (Assistant Commandant, CRPF & PEC alumnus), Captain Utkarsh, Captain Ayush (Indian Army), Dr. Gorag Singh (Senior Technical Officer, CSIO) and Dr. Sunil Kumar, who joined as Guests of Honour. The dignitaries collectively lit the ceremonial lamp, formally commencing PECFEST 2025 and symbolizing the festival’s spirit of knowledge, creativity, and unity.
Delivering the inaugural address, Director Prof. Bhatia highlighted PECFEST’s unique blend of cultural vibrancy and technical excellence. He emphasized India’s rapidly evolving technological landscape and encouraged students to embrace Make in India innovations with confidence and pride. He also extended warm greetings to teams traveling from various states and expressed deep gratitude to the organizing committees, volunteers, and PEC staff whose dedication and meticulous planning brought PECFEST 2025 together.
The presence of Indian Army and paramilitary personnel infused the ceremony with a strong sense of patriotism, discipline, and leadership—greatly inspiring the students.
Among the distinguished guests, Shri Vishal Khandelwal delivered a compelling speech that deeply resonated with the young audience. A special attraction of PECFEST 2025 is the Defence Exhibition featuring the Indian Army, Air Force, CRPF, and several other forces—organized for the first time ever at PEC. The exhibition will remain open until Sunday, 23rd November 2025, 2:00 PM, offering students a rare opportunity to explore defence technologies, equipment, and interactive displays.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Jyoti Kedia, Head of Technical Societies, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, guests, student committees, and volunteers. She applauded the collaborative spirit of the PEC community and encouraged everyone to immerse themselves in the vibrant lineup of events ahead.
