Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, conducted an induction program for the newly joined faculty at the various departments of PEC on 12th April 2023.
The event started with Dr. Vasundhara Singh, Dean Faculty Affairs extending a heartiest welcome to all the new faculty members followed by a detailed presentation by Prof. Rajesh Bhatia, Dean Academics Affair about the academic process of the institute. Dr. Arun Kumar, Head Sponsored Research apprised the present faculties about the key research areas at various departments of PEC and other research practices and opportunities available at the institute regarding research work for the faculty members. Dr Vasundhara Singh, Dean Faculty Affairs informed the members about the rules, regulations and guidelines about the academic processes, including promotion and tenure procedures.
Prof. Baldev Setia, Director PEC, in his welcome address congratulated the new faculty members who have joined the institution and complimented the dean faculty affair and head of the departments for selecting the best of minds for PEC. He motivated them to be best teachers as it holds the power to change the life of students and also encouraged them to focus on the research practices as it is the need of the hour.
The session concluded with an interactive session where all the newly joined faculty members introduced themselves, followed by a question- answer session.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Vasundhara Singh.
