Career Development and Guidance Cell (CDGC), Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh today inaugurated its three day “Pre-Placement Training” for the B.tech 2nd year and M.Tech 1st year students. Dr. Vasundhara Singh, Dean of Faculty Affairs, PEC was the chief guest of the inaugural event. The Pre-Placement Training is an annual event organised by the CDGC to instil fundamental soft skills and prepare the students to perform exceptionally well at Job interviews.
The first day of the three-day event began with the opening ceremony where Dr. Poonam Saini, Prof. In-charge, CDGC, welcomed all the panel members and the students, and shed light on the integral role of CDGC in helping students secure the best internships and placements. The Chief Guest, Dr. Vasundhara Singh, Dean Faculty Affairs, PEC congratulated CDGC for its successful efforts in improving the placements at PEC and also complimented the organizing team for their exponential efforts in planning the event. Various sessions were organised on day one by some of the most eminent personalities including Mr. Vipin Gupta (Chief Technology Officer, Starbucks), Hirdesh Madan(Co-Founder, Hitbullseye),Pritam Deshmukh ( Assistant Manager KPMG), Rupesh Kumar , IAS, Director-IT, Chandigarh UT Administration.
- The guest speaker Mr. Vipin Gupta (Chief Technology Officer, Starbucks) introduced himself and shared his insights about the mantras of success. He also shared his college experience with the audience. It was an insightful and informative session and immensely appreciated by the audience.
- The second speaker, Hirdesh Madan(Co-Founder, Hitbullseye) enlightened the students on the various domains of education, coaching and entrepreneurship. The session lifted the spirits of the students and encouraged them to discover new horizons.
- Pritam Deshmukh ( Assistant manager KPMG, Advisory Consultant and Advisor to Chief Secretary of Haryana) focused on exploring opportunities in Govt. Advisory and public policy and other areas of expertise. He motivated students to focus on building a strong foundation of knowledge and skills in their chosen fields and to be open to new opportunities and challenges.
- The concluding session was held by Rupesh Kumar , IAS, Director-IT , Chandigarh (UT) Administration. He apprised the students about the "power of perseverance" in life and motivated them to work hard and achieve their goals.
Meanwhile, various Group Discussions, Personal Interviews, and Aptitude building workshops were held for different branches in the New Academic Block to inspire students to pursue their passions and goals with greater clarity, confidence, and motivation.
All the sessions were very enlightening and interactive as the students gained knowledge, and got to know about career opportunities abroad and ways to crack the aptitude tests and be corporate-ready.
The pre-placement training event will be organised from 8th April to 10th April 2023.
