Day 2 of PECFest’2021-22 began with a lot of zeal and vibrancy. Carrying forward the passion from the first day of the fest, the second day entailed a plethora of compelling events and competitions for everyone!
To kick off the day with bhangra wars, we had several participants from colleges throughout the tricity which was organised by the Punjabi Editorial Board of PEC. Trademark of any offline fest, Treasure Hunt was organized by SCC. Despite the hot weather, the excitement of exploring the college and the thrill of winning the event, participants displayed enthusiasm which set the tone for the rest of the day. Achal and Gaurav took home the first prize for the Treasure Hunt. Further, adding entertainment to the 2nd day, a debating contest Netagiri was held, where the participants’ quick wit, improvisation, and passionate dialogue left the audience in fits and spellbound. Street play was also organised by the Dramatics Club which gathered a lot of attention from the audience. The Open Mic event saw quite a few avid participants eager to showcase their talents, ranging from poetry, standup, story telling to music and dance. There was something in store for robotics fans and tech geeks as well, events like Roborace and Robosoccer were conducted by IEEE and the Robotics Club. The winners for Roborace were Shashank and Ujjwal and Rakesh Kumar proudly took the first prize for Robosoccer. A startling art exhibition, Kriti was also set up by the Art and Photography Club of PEC which had a display of various paintings and sketches created by the students. Various fun events like Moodle Doodle Wall, Hit the Dart, etc were organised to keep the audience busy. Women Empowerment Cell and Rotaract Club set up a stall in collaboration with Vriddhi NGO selling items like accessories, t-shirts and art work which were made by the students from the NGO.
Apart from these wide array of events and competitions, several influential personalities like Arun Singh, Vanika Sangtani, Jahan Geet and Vaishnavi Boora held sessions in the auditorium to interact with the students. An interactive session with Litesh Gumber (Founder of Cryptic Entertainments) and a PEC alumnus also took place in the senate hall in which he talked about his undergraduate days and shared his experience on how he developed a business and got financially independent.
The evening started with a mesmerising performance by Vivek Singh which left the audience grooving to his beautiful voice. As the Day-2 of the 3 day offline fest approached its end, one of the most awaited competitions of PECFest, Bhangra Theque, a Punjabi group dance competition was held which filled the audience with energy. It was shortly followed by a DJ night which left everyone dancing crazy to the fast and catchy music.
