Career Development and Guidance Centre (CDGC) of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, today concluded its three day Pre-Placement Training event.
Prof. Baldev Setia, Director, PEC graced the valedictory ceremony with his august presence. On the occasion Prof. Setia inaugurated the two new initiatives taken by CDGC – the official CDGC website and the ’CDGC- Resources’ which is a repository containing the necessary information and tips to ace company recruitment processes.
In his address, he congratulated and complimented the entire team of CDGC for their honest efforts in organizing a successful Pre Placement Training 2023. He motivated the students to develop their skills and work incessantly towards their goals. He emphasised on the importance of learning attitude in life and the significance of communication skills, respectfulness, and the need to maintain an active and well-groomed appearance.
Highlights of third day:
- An array of sessions was witnessed on the third and final day of Pre Placement Training 2023 conducted by CDGC from 8th to 10th April.
- Ms. Aashna Narula delivered the initial session of the day about mental health. She shared her valuable insights about how failure is not permanent and it can serve as a powerful source of inspiration and motivation. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of managing rejections effectively and cultivating a strong sense of self-love.
- The second session was taken by Mr. Harpreet Dhody (TEDx speaker, marketer, mentor, entrepreneur). During his leadership talk, he highlighted the importance of effective decision-making and the need to have a clear sense of direction. He provided guidance on how to make informed decisions and stressed upon the significance of knowing where one is headed.
- The third session was conducted by Simarpreet Singh (Executive Director, Hartek Group, Forbes 30 under 30 Asia, TEDx speaker).He spoke about his experiences in building and leading a successful business in the power sector while sharing the insights and lessons learned from his journey as an entrepreneur.
- The final session was delivered by Mr. Rahul Bambi (National Head Salesforce – Bennett Coleman and Co.Ltd) who focused on Career Planning and the balance between goals and pursuits. He mentioned examples from his own experiences and gave lessons from his significant lifelong journey.
The sessions were highly informative and engaging, providing the students with valuable knowledge on career opportunities and strategies to succeed in future endeavours. The entire organizing student committee was felicitated with certificates for their hard work, efforts and dedication for the successful completion of the event.
The three-day event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Poonam Saini, Prof. In-charge, CDGC who expressed gratitude to all the organizing faculty, staff and student members for pulling off a successful event.
The students felt motivated and found the training to be extremely helpful and inspiring.
