Fifteen students of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, accompanied by Mr. Parveen, Head IT and a faculty member, today arrived at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh for a brief campus visit. The team was welcomed by Dr. J.D Sharma, Head Career Development & Guidance Centre. Dr. J.D Sharma in a session with the students gave a brief introduction about PEC and its functioning. He also apprised the students about the labs and state-of-the-art facilities of the Institute.
The students visited two labs, the Siemens lab and the semiconductor lab, which was inaugurated by then President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, during the centenary year celebrations of Punjab Engineering College. The students interacted with the faculty members and gained an insight into how the machines work along with their application in real life and how these can be useful for the betterment of humanity. The visit gave the students an opportunity to be in a new environment and interact with faculty, staff and students of PEC. These young minds were fascinated by the labs and were determined to join the prestigious institute in the future.
