On the third and last day of PECFEST, the campus of Punjab Engineering College was buzzing with a series of cheerful and adventure-filled events and activities like the No Brush Painting, Micromouse, Bazaar, Kisse Aur Kahaniyan, Code Hunter and the most talked about Battle of Bands which is a series of musical performances from bands across the nation.
The past two days in Tricity have been abuzz with activity with the ongoing PECFEST. The festival showed no signs of slowing down, as its third day commenced with events like the Rockathon and Bhangra Wars. The final day was packed with a plethora of events that happened simultaneously ranging right from the hackathons to the performing arts. With each performance, the audience was hooked to the beats produced, from various instruments such as the violin to the drum set. The air was full of festive fervour, with the crowd bubbling with excitement.
Quizzing whizzes battled out their wits in the India Quiz Competition later in the day, which was conducted at the Auditorium, with questions sensitising the participants as well as the spectators. Netagiri - A manifesto based competition and Quirky Quiz - A quizzing event typically based on questions related to General Knowledge and with various categories like Social Science, Indian Constitution, Sports, Movies, Literature, current affairs etc was organised by the students of Communication, Information and Media Cell of PEC, SAASC conducted the “The Indian Knowledge League” - the India Quiz in association with Sleepy Classes IAS. The dramatics society conducted Naach Meri Jaan at the fun stage which witnessed scintillating performances by dance groups from the entire Chandigarh Dance Circuit. The biggest highlight of the competition was liberalisation in terms of dance forms and dance types which paved the way for diversity and versatility among dancers. Later, the auditorium went out of space for an innumerable audience when the comedy hunt effortlessly left the audience with scores of laughter.
The theme for the fest, "An Indian Odyssey" was brought to life with an enthralling performance by Harrdy Sandhu on Star Night. The stage pulsed with the energy and exuberance of this dexterous artist as this three-day extravaganza concluded on a vivacious end with the hope for an even better fest next year. With an energetic and captivating performance, the singer had the crowd shimmying along with the members of the group to the tunes of famous Hindi and Punjabi numbers! In what could be best defined as the perfect conclusion to a three-day relay of events and performances, the singer had thousands of people swooning and crooning to the exuberant tunes of his songs.
The night ended on a spirited note with the Bhangra-Theque, thus bringing a more Punjabi musical vibe to the day. The rapt audience was caught in the enthusiasm and exuberance of the dancers on stage as they wove their magic through the night. The unified and synchronised coordination between the members reflected the positivity of their music. With this unforgettable rendition of a timeless musical experience, PECFEST 2022-23 came to a grand end.
The three-day fest was a melange of events right from the ones of competition and team spirit to the ones which fuelled up the people around. PECFEST ended on a lively note leaving higher expectations for PECFEST 2023.
