After a two year gap due to the lockdown, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, finally kicked off North India's one of the largest techno-cultural fests, PECFest in offline mode. The fest is scheduled to be held from 16th to 18th April and the theme for this year’s fest is ‘A Cosmic Escapade’. The commencement of the fest was marked early in the morning of 16th April by a Mini Marathon, held in collaboration with Chandigarh Tourism Department and was flagged off by the Director, PEC, Dr. Baldev Setia.
The afternoon was marked by multiple competitions and events, one for everyone's taste. Ranging from Hindi poetry to DIY rockets, Stand up comedy to Graffiti Competition or the famous Mr. and Miss PECFest: all got a chance to empty their brain onto huge canvases of creativity, both artistic and technical.
An official inaugural ceremony was held in the evening, graced by the presence of the Hon'ble Director, PEC, Dr. Baldev Setia as the Chief Guest, along with an energetic and cheerful crowd. PECobians and the rest of Chandigarh gathered with enthusiasm and zeal in anticipation for the upcoming cultural performances.
Talent and glamour was at its peak with the Groovz: A Western Group Dance competition and the Glitterati: a ramp walk presentation of glitz and glamour. Participants gathered to show off their dance moves and rampwalks followed by cheers and applause. The day ended with a blast as students prepared for another cultural extravaganza in the upcoming days.
