The NSS unit of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, in coordination with Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER, Chandigarh today organized the biannual Blood Donation Camp (BDC) at PEC auditorium, PEC (Deemed to be University), sector 12, Chandigarh.
The event was graced by Shri. Yashpal Garg, IAS, Health Secretary and felicitated 25-star donors of the blood donation camp.
Prof. Baldev Setia, Director, PEC stated that this biannual event, which is being organized at PEC for more than 40 years, reassured Dr. Suchet Sachdev, Professor, Department of Transfusion Medicine PGIMER, that this collaboration will continue and remain intact. He further appreciated the students, faculty and staff for enthusiastically participating in this noble cause of blood donation.
Dr. D R Prajapati, Dean Student Affairs complimented the unwavering spirit of the young donors. He had been fully supporting the NSS-PEC team throughout the organisation of the event.The camp witnessed active participation from students, faculty and staff of PEC, who volunteered to donate blood.The total number of 164 units of blood was donated during the event.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. S K Soni, Programme Coordinator, Dr Sandeep Kaur and Prof Anchitanand Dubey (Programme Officers) NSS-PEC.
