Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, witnessed a memorable and culturally enriching “Jaspal Bhatti Cultural Evening 2026” on 25th September 2026 at the PEC Auditorium, Chandigarh, celebrating the enduring legacy, humour, creativity and contributions of legendary engineer, satirist and humourist Er. Jaspal Bhatti.
The programme was graced by Mrs. Kusum Bansal, IRS, an eminent civil servant, as the Chief Guest, while Mrs. Savita Bhatti, wife of the legendary Er. Jaspal Bhatti, was the Guest of Honour. Prof. Dr. Rajesh Bhatia, Hon’ble Director, PEC, presided over the event.
The evening brought together the PEC fraternity, distinguished alumni, students and members of the Bhatti family in an atmosphere of celebration, remembrance and cultural expression. The programme highlighted the unique legacy of Er. Jaspal Bhatti and his remarkable ability to use humour and satire to connect with society while conveying meaningful social messages.
The event was successfully organised thanks to the key efforts of Er. H.S. Oberoi, President, PECOSA, Er. Jorawar Singh, General Secretary, PECOSA, and PEC Head of Alumni Affairs Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kanda, along with a dedicated group of PEC alumni.

Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the initiative of PECOSA and PEC Alumni Affairs in bringing together culture, creativity, alumni engagement and student recognition on a common platform.
