The Centre of Management and Humanities of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, conducted a successful lecture by Ms Surleen Kaur, a Customer Experience Consultant at IBM, on the topic "Introduction to Consulting - A Deep Dive into Customer Experience Consulting Techniques and Design Thinking" on 30th September 2022.
Dr Anju Singla, Head of Department - Centre of Management and Humanities and other honorary professors at PEC also graced the occasion by attending the webinar.
The session began with a warm welcome of Ms Surleen Kaur, an alumna of IIM Calcutta and PEC. Focusing primarily on the skill sets required to become a good Strategy Consultant, she discussed the life cycle of a consultant. Moving on, she broadly classified the 'Design Thinking Methodology' into various steps and emphasised the importance of Design Thinking. She also talked about the significance of a Human-centric approach in building a business.
The session concluded with an active question-answer session and Ms Surleen provided some key points and insights about consulting and the work related to it. The session gave a stellar opportunity for the students to gain knowledge and a peek into the occupation of Consulting.
Ms Surleen Kaur is currently working as a Customer Experience Consultant at IBM and has expertise in Digital business consulting, onsite-offshore coordination, business analysis and project management across European, MEA and APAC regions. She has been awarded several times for her exemplary work in the field of consulting and management, namely, she was awarded the 'Spark Award' for her outstanding contributions to GBS CIC India in 2H2020. Also, she has been recognised as a 'Top 5 "Up & Coming" women leader'.
