Industry Academia Expert Lecture Week is being observed by Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh during 20 th – 24 th March, 2023. The Aerospace Engineering Department is also organizing various lectures/interactions with experts from reputed Industrial, research and academic organizations during this week. Six experts from reputed organizations such as BOEING, ISRO, RCMA (DRDO), Honeywell Solutions, IIT Bombay etc. will be delivering invited expert talks and sharing their experience during the week.
In this series of lectures, two expert talks/interactions were held today. Sh. Deepak Lekhi from RCMA (DRDO) delivered his talk on ‘Aircraft Safety’ and shared his experience & challenges faced by him during his career journey and how he overcame the difficulties to meet those challenges. Finally, Mr. Deepak concluded with a social message advocating for the prevention of “light pollution”. Another expert talk was delivered online by Dr. Jeppu Yogananda from Honeywell Technology Solutions, Bangalore on ‘Developing Aero Control Systems’. During the talk, all were taken on a journey through the development of a control system, from the development of mathematical models to testing during a prototype flight. He frequently provided insightful advice on how college students can explore this domain of aerospace.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar (Head, Aerospace Engineering Department) gave a warm welcome to the speakers and highlighted the relevance of this INDUSTRY ACADEMIA EXPERT interaction for development of students & faculty through possible tie-ups with industry and research/academic organizations. Dr. Rakesh Kumar thanked experts for their contributions by awarding mementos and also thanked Director PEC, Prof. Baldev Setia for his continuous support & guidance during the conduct of such events. In coming days, Prof. R. K. Pant (Professor, IITB, Mumbai), Sh. Harsha R.M. (Lead Engineer, Boeing, Bangalore), Dr. Rabindra Prasad (Amity University, Gwalior) and Dr. Pankaj Priyadarshi (Group Director & Principal Scientist, VSSC, ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram) will continue to interact with PEC students with their respective specialized domain which will give a broader perspective to the student about the extended field of aerospace.
