On the second day of the five-day annual Industry Academia Expert Lecture Week on September 12, 2023, the Centre of Management and Humanities organized an interactive lecture by Mr. Amit Hans, Founder Director, EduCorp Trainings, Chandigarh; centred around the topic “Engineers to leaders: When Tech meets Management”, which is the need of the hour.
Dr. Anju Singla, Head, CMH initiated the event with a floral welcome to the guest. Mr. Hans set the ball rolling with stress on the importance of communicating effectively for having a successful career. He deliberated on the prospects of engineers in the field of business and management with the need for engineers to have a multidimensional approach toward career choices.
Sharing his own journey from an engineer to a management professional, the expert highlighted the natural tendency of engineers to excel in the field of business and management emphasizing their potential to be great leaders. He talked about how constant upscaling of skills to survive in the changing times is critical while making the session more interesting and interactive through sharing real-life examples.
300+ students across semesters of B.Tech, M.Tech. and Ph.D. program actively participated in the session. The student motivation and enthusiastic participation were evident in the numerous questions to the expert. Concluding the event, Head, CMH along with the other faculty members of CMH expressed her gratitude to the speaker.
