A Delegation from Engineering School of Swansea University, Wales, U.K. consisting of Prof. Adam Jones, International Development and Collaborations, College of Engineering, Swansea University and Sadhana Lalla, Regional Advisor - South Asia, Swansea University visited PEC University of Technology on 18th April 2015 to explore the possibility of collaborations for enhancement and R andD activities. Prof. Manoj K. Arora, Director, PEC University of Technology and Prof. Puneet Arora welcomed the dignitaries. Prof. Manoj K Arora then told about PEC with insights on various departments and the research work that they are carrying out in various fields. This was followed by the presentation by Prof. Adam Jones who threw light on the Swansea University, Wales, UK and the various research areas and the facilities available for the same. He also mentioned about the path breaking "Bloodhound SSC" through which they target to make history by breaking the land speed record and reach 1,000mph in a supersonic car. Further, he told about the various tie ups with the leading multinational industry suchas Rolls Royce, Tata Steel, Airbus etc. and he elaborated on the partnership with Rolls Royce to develop next generation Aircraft Engine.Various PEC faculty members were also present who shared about their areas of specializations. The delegates discussed overlapping areas of research between the two universities and the possibility of research collaboration to take benefit from the research facilities from both the universities. During deliberation various research areas such as Aerospace Engineering, Transportation, Materials, Mathematics and Computing and Renewable Energy among many others were identified where collaborative research can be carried out in both the institutes.
