The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh, in coordination with the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education (PGIMER), Chandigarh, organized its biannual Blood Donation Camp at the centenary hall on 11th April 2023. A total of 223 units of blood was collected.
Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandigarh, was the chief guest of the event and felicitated the star donors of the blood donation camp. Prof. Baldev Setia, Director PEC, and Prof. D. R Prajapati, Dean of Student Affairs, graced the occasion with their presence.The event was coordinated by Prof. Jaimala Gambhir and team.
Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur reminisced about her days at PEC and complimented the organizing team for carrying forward the tradition of blood donation with such dedication and passion. She encouraged the students to be more active and face challenges during this learning phase of their life and move towards leadership positions. During the camp, she also interacted with the donors and the students from the organizing team.
The camp witnessed active participation from students, faculty and staff of PEC, who volunteered to donate blood. The event provided an opportunity for people to give back to their community, and it helped raise awareness about the importance of blood donation.
