On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) organised an awareness lecture with Dr. Shantanu Shukla, from PGIMER Chandigarh, to spread awareness amongst the students.
Dr. Shukla discussed the ill effects of drug use with more than 300 students and also explained how the mechanism and mind of an individual changes, when one consumes drugs on a regular basis. He advised different ways and methods to handle such situations and also how an institution can spread awareness about the same.
This was followed by an interactive session with the students of the PEC in which students discussed their issues and questions with the speaker. The students really found the session insightful, during the session the speaker also discussed the myths related to drugs.
