As part of expanding collaboration, the Chandigarh Police and Punjab Engineering College (PEC) has officially unveiled an Advanced Executive Programme, a Certificate Course in Cybercrime Investigations exclusively designed for the Law Enforcement agencies. This transformative initiative, launched by DGP Chandigarh Police, Sh. Praveer Ranjan and Director PEC, Prof. Baldev Setia marks a significant milestone in addressing the urgent issue of digital addiction among India's youth. Other dignitaries who were present were Ms. manisha Chaudhary, SSP Traffic, Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur (SSP), Prof. Siby John (Deputy Director, PEC), Sh. Ketan Bansal (SP Crime & SP/Cyber Vigilance).
Dr. Divya Bansal, Prof. & Head, is the Program Coordinator of the course from PEC. The course instructors are also faculty members and alumni of PEC and have their expertise in a range of topics such as Machine Learning, Dark web, Deep fakes, Mobile forensics, cyber intelligence, Open source intelligence and so on.
This carefully crafted course aims to assist state law enforcement agencies and senior defense officers in leading cybercrime investigations, generating actionable intelligence, and facilitating information exchange and cooperation among them. The goal is to equip dedicated officers and professionals like you with cyber investigative skills using cutting-edge technologies, meticulous investigations, and formidable forensic capabilities, empowering you to combat cybercriminals effectively. The certificate course is being conducted by Cyber Security Research Centre at PEC. The Centre has been conducting extensive research studies on police subjects. It is pleased to expand its resource base in the Contemporary as well as Advanced Technologies relevant to the Police to develop a holistic understanding of all the aspects of cyber security.
It commenced today,i.e., on September 22, 2023, and will end on November 25, 2023.
The course will be conducted on weekends (Fridays & Saturdays) and is set to equip participants with cutting-edge skills and knowledge. The comprehensive curriculum encompasses an array of crucial topics, including social media analysis, big data analytics, machine learning for crime investigations, and advanced tools and techniques for analyzing digital footprints.
