To mark the 71st anniversary of India's 'tryst with destiny' on 15th August 2017, PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh celebrated the Independence Day to re-experience the spirit of patriotism and to honour the glorious past of our country. The celebration began with the arrival of Mr Manish Jindal, Registrar, PEC, Dr Perminderjit Singh, Dean Student Affairs and faculty members. The Registrar was escorted by the NCC cadets to the venue following which he unfurled the tricolour.
After the National Anthem, which raised the patriotic fervour in the crowd, the event moved on with the performance of the cultural clubs of the university. The Dramatics Club energised the day by tapping their feet on the Bollywood beats that made the audience proud on being associated with the life in India. A Bhangra performance also helped people reminisce about the art form that is symbolic to Punjab's culture. The power of the patriotic tunes played by the Music Club inspired the audience to sing along with the glories of our country.
Thereafter Mr. Jindal delivered highly motivating speech and commemorated the long and consistent efforts put in by the Indian freedom fighters for the country. The university observed this historic day with enthusiasm and revived the oath of being dutiful children to this country.
