131st Birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was celebrated in PEC Chandigarh on 14.04.2022. The event was organized by SC/ST/OBC Officers’ Welfare Association of PEC, Chandigarh. On this auspicious occasion, Dr. Baldev Setia, Director PEC was the Chief Guest and Dr. R.L. Bassan, Civil Surgeon (retd.), Jalandhar was the Guest of Honour. In addition, the celebration of Birth Anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar was marked by the presence of other members of the association, members of PEC Employees SC/ST welfare association, Faculty members, Staff members, Students, Children and others.
After floral tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the President of the Association, Dr. D.R. Prajapati welcomed Chief Guest Dr. Baldev Setia and Guest of Honour Dr. R.L. Bassan. Dr. Prajapati shared his views on life, struggle and teachings of the architect of Indian constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Dr. R.L. Bassan, the Guest of Honour, shared his life journey which was full of struggle and hard-work. Dr. Bassan told that, the dream of becoming a Doctor and respect & virtues enjoyed by him during the service period were possible only due to the charismatic personality, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Dr. Baldev Setia, Chief Guest on the occasion, expressed that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a universal personality & true leader and it is not wise to categorize him as a leader of Dalits only. Dr. Setia proved his point by highlighting a variety of contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Dr. Setia said that the Constitution of India includes each & every aspect required for living a dignified life and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is the architect of such a wonderful Constitution. Prof. Setia announce that the Birth Anniversary celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar should be celebrated as Institute function in future.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar,Chairman,Estates,PEC,also shared some typical and interesting aspects from the life journey of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and appealed everyone to apply the teaching/message of Dr. Ambedkar in practical life. In the end, a vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, Vice-President of the association.
