Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The educational objectives of the Postgraduate programme of Mechanical Engineering at PEC are:

  1. PG students will have a thorough grounding in the key principles & practices of Mechanical Engineering, will apply their engineering skills & knowledge of fundamental principles to the design & implementation of practical systems to meet the customer requirements.
  2. PG students will be successfully employed in the engineering profession, actively engaged in learning, understanding and applying new ideas & technologies as the field evolves.
  3. To develop the design capabilities among students so that they have the ability to participate in creative, synthetic and integrative activities related to Mechanical Engineering domain.
  4. To develop communication skills so that the students are able to express ideas clearly and persuasively in written and oral forms.
  5. To inculcate the ability to design, develop and perform experiments in the relevant discipline and acquire the ability to interpret & evaluate experimental results.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

The outcomes of the postgraduate programme of Mechanical Engineering at PEC are:

  1. An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
  2. An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
  3. Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate Bachelor program.
