The Department of Mathematics at Punjab Engineering College is starting a new course, B.Tech Mathematics and Computing from the 2024-25 session. This program will offer 30 seats. The interdisciplinary nature of Mathematics and Computing combines courses in mathematics and computer science which enables students to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications. This course is designed to introduce students to the principles of mathematics and computing and they will be able to produce technologies which can develop innovative and efficient solutions to complex real-world problems. Many industries, including finance, technology, data science, and research, require professionals who can analyze complex problems using mathematical concepts and find solutions using computational tools. Upon completion of the program, students will possess a strong grasp of analytical abilities and practical skills, and will be thoroughly prepared for career prospects in software industries, research and development organizations, or advanced studies in mathematics and computing sciences.
