PEC PhD student wins Best Poster Award in 2nd AISRF meeeting at IISER, Mohali

 

Mr. Ankur Garg, Ph.D. research scholar at department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has won best poster award in 2nd Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF) Meeting on “Advanced Nanomaterials for Energy, Optoelectronics and Biological Applications” organized by Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) during 25th -27th November, 2015 at Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research (IISER), Mohali, Punjab. Under this award he has received cash prize of Rs 2,000/- along with a certificate and memento.

More than 40 posters were presented during the meeting and his research work titled “Energy harvesting using III-V material based ballistic rectifier” was highly appreciated by the evaluation committee including Bharat Ratna Prof. C N R Rao, Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India (please see photo).

Prof. Neena Gupta, Head, ECE department congratulated student along with his supervisors Dr Arun Kumar Singh and Dr Neelu Jain. The participation in such meetings and conferences will not enhance the knowledge of state-of-art technology but also provide an excellent platform to interact with world renowned scientists and researchers, added Dr. Neena Gupta.
